Introduction of a case where the frequency of sludge removal work and cleaning of the intake was significantly reduced using a water screen.

In a river with a very high flow of fine sand, frequent cleaning of the sedimentation basin was necessary due to the previous method of water extraction. Additionally, leaves stuck to the wire mesh covering the intake, causing clogging and a decrease in water extraction volume. As a result, we were going to the water source almost daily to perform mud removal and clean the wire mesh. Furthermore, during winter, with snow accumulation exceeding 2 meters, snow removal was required to approach the water source, which became a significant burden. Therefore, we installed our "Water Screen." The amount of sand flowing into the sedimentation basin has decreased, significantly reducing the frequency of cleaning. In particular, the reduction in the number of cleaning operations during winter has greatly alleviated the burden of maintenance. The installation of a water screen reduces the number of cleaning operations and lightens the burden!

Normally a clear stream, but when it floods, there is a significant amount of sediment flow. In this river, the water intake using the existing catchment basin frequently became blocked, requiring regular removal of fallen leaves and sediment. To reach the water source, one had to climb a rocky, fast-flowing area, which posed dangers and became a significant burden for the elderly managing it. Therefore, a water screen "WSS-B-25M" was installed. Stabilize water intake with WSS water screens! No clogging and no need for backwashing.

Until now, we had been using riverbed-embedded porous pipes for water intake, and the intake volume had gradually decreased due to clogging and sediment accumulation. As a result, it was necessary to perform backwashing every 3 to 4 days during good weather and each time during rainfall, which placed a significant burden on the maintenance of the water source. By adopting the "WSS Water Screen," clogging has been eliminated, and the need for backwashing has been removed, allowing us to stably secure sufficient intake volume. In Toyota City, there are more than 20 installations throughout the city, contributing to stable water intake.
